Worldview – Fighting polio in Pakistan

Polio cases are at a historic low but the disease remains endemic in Pakistan, Nigeria and Afghanistan. Earlier this summer the Taliban imposed a ban on vaccination in North and South Waziristan, saying they wouldn’t be allowed until the United States ended drone strikes in the region. Aziz Memon, Rotary’s National Polio Plus Chair for Pakistan, explain why Pakistan hasn’t been able to eliminate the disease and he tells us what Rotary’s been doing to help push the problem to the top of the UN agenda.
